Dr. Kiran Bhaganagar
Professor, Mechanical Engineering, UTSA
Welcome to Dr. Kiran Bhaganagar's group. Our current research focuses on the following:

1. Buoyant Plume Transport: WRF-LES formulation has been used to study buoyant plumes under the effect of atmospheric stratification, and study has implications in wild-fire, volcano, air-pollution and chemical release.

2. Density Currents over rough-surfaces: LES and DNS tools have been developed to study entrainment and mixing processes.

3. Turbulence flow physics over rough surfaces: Immersed boundary Method based DNS tools have been developed to study inner/outer layer interactions due to regular/irregular roughness

4. Wind Energy: Advanced Neural Network (ANN), LES tools are used to predict wind power in wind farm.

5. Mobile Sensing for Extreme environments: Sensing environment with Cooperative unmanned aerial and ground vehicles is being developed.
NASA MIRO CAMEE
The UTSA NASA CAMEE center will enhance NASA’s efforts to develop a diverse workforce in earth system sciences, remote sensing technologies, computational fluid dynamics and hiogh fidelity modeling of the environment, and experimental fluid mechanics in support of NASA’s Science, Aeronautics, and Space Technology Mission Directorates.
